Cathy Christian was the first official Vampirella model to appear at various conventions (although a number of hopefuls would also turn up at comic conventions in the US dressed as Vampi). Cathy Christian also appeared in the first Topps set of trading cards, Visions of Vampirella, released in 1995, with pictures on the front of cards #37 to #45, but using the reverse of all 9 cards to build up to one large picture of Cathy (see below on the left). She never made it to a Vampirella cover, and quickly disappeared from the Vampirella scene, but (like all the Vampirella models) she has her place in the history. An interesting dilemma arose because one of the trading cards released to promote Visions of Vampirella had the name Tracy Kahn alongside the photo of Cathy, and many people thought Tracy was the model. The answer to this dilemma is explained on Tracy Kahn's page. |

This is my favourite card from the Visions set, #41. I just love Cathy's expression. |

Besides her portrayal of Vampirella Cathy Christian was the role model for Avengelyne, the long-running heroine of the comic book saga by Rob Liefield that was first published in Maximum Press in May 1995. Some glimpses of Cathy as Avengelyne are below. |
