In a remote country estate in upstate New York, a unique emporium has set up business: The Soul Market. On display, the imprisoned souls of mortals held inside portraits, sculptures, and photographs, all to be auctioned off to the highest bidder. The auctioneer is called Goodfellow; the deadly, mischievous sprite immortalized in Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream. Goodfellow's game of cat and mouse grows more tangled, forcing Kildare to take drastic measures in order to free the trapped soul of her former lover. Also a powerful, malevolent force is hunting Goodfellow, bent on revenge, and Goodfellow wants Kildare to stop it. But the cost of doing that may be higher than she can imagine.
